About us
RoseLee da Conceição Bovell is the owner of Liminal Spaces Counseling, LLC and a licensed independent clinical social worker in Maryland and DC. She has worked primarily with women, military community members, workers from various sectors, domestic violence and sexual assault survivors.
RoseLee is a bonafide DC native of South American heritage, with 5+ years of experience in the social work field. RoseLee has taken a varied and dynamic occupational path to arrive at her passion of mental health counseling and therapy; starting in secondary education and administration, eventually working with Service Members, veterans, and their families in the areas of transition and employment overseas and domestically, and in the area of Victim Advocacy. She has also served as a bilingual (Spanish) support specialist in the non-profit arena, supporting survivors of sexual assault across the U.S.
RoseLee uses a variety of approaches to psychotherapy, to include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, Inner Child Work, Attachment Theory, and Trauma-informed Care, all from a person-centered, culturally sensitive lens.
RoseLee’s therapeutic style is largely based on the understanding that: “Life brings with it a set of challenges that you can adapt to at your own pace. And, that seeking out support means that you are ready to make a change, for the better. You are expressing a willingness to trust not only in me, but in yourself, and in the change that the therapeutic process can bring forth.”
Fun Fact: RoseLee is a heritage language learner of Portuguese and picked up Spanish along the way. She says that her language skills are so so, but good enough to get by!
“When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.”
